Tse Ataa Mensah and Naa Adua
Who is Tse Ataa Mensah)? December 1948 - August 2005
Our late Father was born on 16 December 1948 at Korle Gonno Accra Ghana. He was the twelve child, and the last born of his mother’s children. His mother gave birth to five sets of twins and he was the youngest of the fifth set of twins. Both his maternal and paternal parents came from the royal home and before his death he was due to become chief of Aplaku in Accra Ghana.
Tse in the Ga language means father and Nii Oko is the name given to the youngest male twin in the Ga tribe. The titles Nii (for men) and Naa (for women) are always used in the beginning of a persons name provided they are from the Ga tribe and from the royal Blood line.
Tse Ataa worked for the medical statistical unit at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital for over twenty years before giving it up. Prior to his death our father was part of a project administrating funds for the education of local children in Ghana.
